Steve Harry @ 11:34 pmGet Sin and Punishment now…
Filed under: Latest News | Comments (0)
That’s right people, Nintendo has just released Sin and Punishment on the Virtual Console in Europe. And this my friend is an momentus occasion for sure as this game was only ever previously released on the N64 in Japan and was one of the last titles made for the 64 bit console.Â
My advice to you is this - go fire up your Wii and download this now. Ok, it will set you back 1200 Wii points but it has to be worth it to play this rare game! This game is action through and through so you won’t be disappointed! Â
And just as a gentle reminder, you only have 2 days left to grab Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels before its gone forever! Don’t delay, act now!

Is this the very first instance of an advergame? This specially commissioned game, of which only 125 copies were made, was released in 1983 and only given to Coca-Cola employees. The classic invaders were replaced with letters that spelled P E P S I and the command ship was transformed into a Pepsi logo.

Due to it’s rarity, this particular cartridge fetches good money on eBay with one selling recently for $1,825.

At the recent New York Fashion Week, Atlantic’s GameKeeper have reveled there new fashion accessory for your Wii and it’s a Wii Strap?
“The Wii Strap for the Wii controller fastens through the controller loop and onto your wrist with Velcro. But the thick band also looks as if it might double as a wristband. They’ll be available this November in sets of blue and black or pink and green for $9.99.”
So it means that you can sleep easy at night now knowing your save from throwing your Wii-mote through your TV!
Mike Ballan @ 8:58 amDoom Soundtrack on Piano?
Filed under: Latest News, PC, Retro & Arcade | Comments (0)
Ok going back to 1993 and a new computer game was released and its name was Doom!
This was a landmark title in the first-person shooter genre and is widely recognized for pioneering immersive 3D graphics, networked multiplayer gaming on the PC platform, and support for custom expansions (WADs).
Doom was downloaded by an estimated 10 million people within two years which if you ask me is a lot of people!
The Doom franchise was continued with Doom II: Hell on Earth (1994) and numerous expansion packs, including The Ultimate Doom (1995), Master Levels for Doom II (1995), and Final Doom (1996), and I wish I could forget the 2005 Doom motion picture.
So here comes the real reason for this post!
This is a guy that can play the piano very well and also can remember what the music of the first Doom game sounds like!
Tourney Mode
Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo, Smash Bros. DOJO | Comments (0)
What is Tourney mode?
This is a mode that determines which player stands victorious on the summit after winning many battles against many foes!
I won’t go into much detail, so just try it out for yourself. Take advantage of its robust tourney-generating functions!
Of course, if you don’t have a large number of friends, you may not have much need for a tourney.

Still, we’re working seriously to make this mode fun for even those people.
Actually, you can also play this by yourself against computer opponents, so try it out if you’re so inclined.
Mike Ballan @ 8:32 amBioShock on the Wii a possibility?
Filed under: Latest News | Comments (0)
Accordingly to Mike Hickey (an analyst from Janco Partners), BioShock could be set to make an appearance on the PS3 and the Wii sometime in 2009. And his evidence….. Money!
Now I’m no analyst but if pushed I would have probably predicted a similar thing. BioShock an is immensely popular game, with the games developer, 2K Games, stating that they’ve already shipped over 1.5 million copies of the game since its release making it a sure fire hit. The company’s shares also rocketed by a massive 20% the week after the games launch. Basically this all means profit ($) and lots of it!
Of course, if the title is released on more consoles then the company sells to a wider audience and they make more money. So why not… surely its possible!
Personally I hope it does get released on other consoles but then can I wait till 2009 to play this (hmmm just another compelling reason to get a 360)
Hardwear: 4 Gamers Charging Stand
Filed under: Review: Wii, Reviews | Comments (0)
Recently, I was given a 4gamers Remote Charging Stand for my Wii and have been reasonably impressed with it so far, so I thought I’d share my views on this with the world.
We all know there are a lot of accessories out there for all consoles - both official and 3rd party - and it can sometimes be difficult to decide which one to go for. Unfortunately, I’m not in the position to rate this product against any others which are currently on the market (well apart from the original Wii stand perhaps) however sometimes hearing about some-one else’s experience can really help.

Not much more to say on this title (that we haven’t already reported). Look out for this game when it goes on general release in the states in November. It will be sat along side Wii’s new peripheral – the Wii Zapper……
Zombie action here I come…!

Orange juice and lemonade may be the way to go when racing the streets of Project Gotham, but nothing beats a whee snifter in between bouts of Wii Bowling so down a few shots of your favourite tipple in these game inspired drinking vessels (unfortunately the Invaders Whisky glasses are sold out).

Soul Calibur Legends
Filed under: Latest News | Comments (0)
The latest title in my favourite beat-um up series is soon to make a new appearance on the Wii. Soul Calibur Legends, exclusively developed for the Wii, will not be a straightforward beat-um up though. Oh no, Namco Bandia (the games developer) had decided to design this title as an action adventure game.
Not much is known about the story of this game however I do know that it is to be based on Siegfried Schtauffen and Nightmare. Various screen shots and trailers have confirmed that the will be at least 5 ‘known’ playable characters and a variety of new players and non-playable characters. Oh and this game will feature competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes as well as the usual single player story mode.
I’m definitely interested to see how this game turns out. Part of me wishes that they kept to the classic fighting concept but then co-operative play sounds pretty interesting and I always like something different!
Soul Calibur Legends goes on general release in America in November and worldwide soon after! Take my advice; keep an eye out for this one!
Steve Harry @ 1:17 pmPokémon Trainer: Final Smash
Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo, Smash Bros. DOJO | Comments (0)
It’s the Pokémon Trainer’s Final Smash: Triple Finish! It combines the powers of Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard!
…So, what is with that text window below?
Squirtle = Hydro Pump
Ivysaur = SolarBeam
Charizard = Fire Blast
These are the moves they use. Isn’t it a beautiful combination? A Fire-type attack, a Water-type attack, and a Grass-type attack? (Not really.)
If an opposing Pokémon gets the Smash Ball, at the very least take care to not be standing immediately beside it.
