Look at this. It’s worthless - ten dollars from a vendor in the street. But I take it, I bury it in the sand for a thousand years, it becomes priceless.
Fresh from Mother Earth come these Gameboy bricks, each one costing around £20. Add some retro gaming flare to your next construction project by buying some from here.

Stuart Witts @ 9:42 pmGame Mode Introduction Movie
Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo, Smash Bros. DOJO | Comments (0)I’ve introduced quite a number of game modes to you here on the Dojo. However, the sheer number of modes is such that I worry I might have confused some of you with all these explanations.
So, I decided to rig up a short movie that showcases each mode. There are so many modes that the video moves at a rather brisk pace, but it lets you absorb everything in one quick shot.
…Or it might just confuse you further.
Sorry about that, but there’s just so many modes in here, you know?

Corgi, who are known more for their models cars have decided to branch out into gaming, their latest effort being this DS stand. I’m not quite sure what to make of it to be honest, it’s kind of cool, but in a nerdy way and the only real flaw it has is that it doesn’t do anything.
I can see how this will be fun for a while but ultimately I can see it be usurped by the humble table, which offers the same stand possibilities but gains the added advantage of height and size over this 12 inch Mario replica, that being said for £19 you can’t really grumble.

Famed Japanese gaming mag Famitsu managed to pry Miyamoto away from the Nintendo offices to have a quiet chat about gaming. What transpires is an interesting insight into the hive mind Miyamoto is part of at NCL and how they went from GameCube to Wii and the logic behind the DS, which was your mum. No seriously.

Today it occurred to me that we rely on the internet a lot more than we used too and one reason for this is the “world wide web” wasn’t around until the 1990’s and two a lot more people have access to the internet.
But what happend before blogs like the Smash Dojo were around how did we know about games coming out well they used paper of course and with this in mind I thought I would try and find the old adverts that were made before the internet was around and share them with you.
So as there has been some hype about this franchise over the past couple of weeks I give you (Read on …)

Daniel Roswell @ 6:48 pmMario Cart Wii **Update**
Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo | Comments (0)
Well sort of an Update!
News on the web has it that Mario Cart for the Wii will include such things as:
- Sliding and snaking confirmed
- Baby Peach, Boo to be drivers
- online battle mode
- 16 new + 16 old courses
- different vehicles for every driver
- controls can be compared to Excite Truck
Now this does look as if they are trying to improve on this franchise rather than just making another game just for the sake of it! As with the last version of the game on the Cube where they introduced the idea of two characters in one cart we now have the option of Motor Bikes which should mix things up a little bit more!
All I would like to see is a release date for this game something in the beginning of this year!

Brawl is what some might call the standard mode for the Smash series. There’s quite a bit to do on the character-selection screen, so I’d like to give you a quick rundown of what you can expect to find there!
There’s no need to memorise all this, though. Uh-uh. Move your little hand-shaped cursor around the screen and drop your token on a space of your choosing to select a character. Tap your selected character to change his or her outfit. On this screen, you can also select which character you start a match with when playing as Pokémon Trainer or Zelda/Sheik. (Read on …)

Finally I can set my mind at ease Capt. Falcon is in Super Smash Bros Brawl!
The internet has exploded with a whole feast of SSBB images and revealed almost everything the game has to offer, including all but one character which I imagine will get blown quite soon.
An astonishing 35 characters are playable in the game with some welcome returns like Capt. Falcon, who up until now had not appeared in any game media, there are off course some surprising additions to the roster. New levels have also been revealed with hopefully a dedicated level for each different franchise appearing in the game, with Port Town for F-Zero being Capt. Falcon’s home turf.

That’s all I’m going to say about the leaks, if you really must find out the who’s and the where’s head over to Joystiq

There are two things today!!!
First up is the japan intro to the game that looks sweet! (Below)
Also did you notice that there are Marth and Ness in this trailer yup two more to add to the list of characters!
And second is all the music that you will start with when you get Smash Bros.
In Brawl there are many ways to add music to your collection, from picking up CDs to unlocking secret songs. However, the number of tracks you can access from the first time you boot up is also quite impressive!
Therefore, the guys thought they would go ahead and post a list of songs available from day one.
Look at all those songs. Look at those big names…
Just think, that big list of songs is going to do nothing but grow as you pick up CDs and unlock additional melodies.
Man, having all this great music in Brawl is such an honour! (Read on …)

I’d love to say that before games, what kids had was Rubik’s cubes, but this would be would not be the case as the cube and gaming turned up at about the same time. Although before both there were slinkys, hula-hoops, sticks and dirt so we’ve come a long way in such a short time.
A promotional item when New Super Mario Bros. came out in Japan, I’m not sure if you can buy these anymore but in order to get one you would have to be in Japan or camp out on eBay wait for one to appear. Either way it’s cool and i want one, time to do some camping…
Daniel Roswell @ 9:49 pmZREO
Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo | Comments (0)
Music takes an important role within the game mechanic, just like in a movie the right music coupled with the right scene is incredibly powerful, it can move you, make you laugh or just plain scare you. The same scene played out without the sound has almost no effect on the viewer, which is why if you get scared you should mute the sound as scary scenes are no longer scary if you watch it with no sound.
Music makes more of a subconscious effect on the recipient, playing what could be misinterpreted as a supporting role behind say graphics of animation. Although arguably music can make or break if you like a game, sure you might fall in love with the graphical vistas or a particular scene, but it’s the music that pulls you in. It’s the music you remember long after you stop playing a game and in fact the music is the trigger to remembering you favourite level.
With this in mind ZREO (Zelda Reorchestrated) takes the musical sound scapes of various games from the beloved series and injects each one with a sense of grandeur you’d expect from a symphony orchestra consisting of eighty to one hundred musicians. The site has lots to offer for those interesting in game music or just Zelda music in general, there is a download section where you can get all of their works but I personally just listen to the streamed albums because they are exactly the same, they just don’t take up hard drive space!
I’m sure a lot of you might have been here before, in which case take another look and give your support to the hard working guys making ZREO possible.

The top menu contains six different modes, but I’ve decided to introduce the finer points of each mode one by one.
Let’s do a rough overview of the mode known as the Vault.
The Vault is where items you’ve collected or created in Brawl are stored. Objects you’ve received as rewards or have downloaded usually appear here.
- Trophies & Stickers
- Stage Builder
- Album
- Challenges
- Replays
- Masterpieces
- Chronicle

This bonus feature lets you peruse Nintendo’s library of past titles. Missing titles in your Chronicle will gradually fill in as you obtain stickers and other things related to those games. (However, there are some titles that will not be displayed until the very end.)
How on earth did we squeeze all these modes in here? I’ve clearly gone overboard with Brawl.
But still, it’s not like I want everyone to play through every single portion of the game. I think I’d rather you played small portions of the areas you find interesting a little at a time.
Whether you choose to go solo or play with friends, you’re covered, because Brawl is about playing the way you want to play.
