bath bombs

That’s right, it’s a bathtime with Mario and friends.

Here at Level Select we like to think that we can get in touch with our femine side, so these luxurious scented bath bombs are just perfect for a cosy candlelit soak. As a bonus, each one has at it’s core a collectable figure. They are priced at $5.99 each and are blind boxed so you never know what you’re gonna get.

Punch Out Scarf

Filed under: Merchandise, Nintendo | Comments (0)

punchout_scarf.jpg

It’s a knockout…

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, or just Punch Out to us Europeans, has received a lot of retro love quite recently and I don’t know if this scarf was made as a result of this, or was part of a mass subconscious Punch Out obsession.

Either way it’s totally awesome and must have taken some time to complete, the work was done by very talented lady known as Beatboxtaun (not real name) and would have set you back $175.

I say “would have” because this awesome Punch Out scarf was available from etsy, but unfortunately we were all too damn slow and this one of a kind has already been sold.

So what do we have here? Well this is the work of a person calling themselves ZodTTD, and he has managed to get all of the 16 bits of glorious gaming that was on the SNES into the iPhone / iTouch which is a dream come true for me!

The game play is fast and smooth, portrait and landscape modes are supported as is game-state saving! So what more could you ask for?

Although this isn’t legal it still shows you there is life still left in the good old SNES, below is a video of this hack working!

Commodore 64 On Virtual Console

Filed under: Nintendo, Virtual Console | Comments (0)

commodore-c64.jpg

The beloved Commodore 64 is making it’s way to the Virtual Console.

Originally released in 1982 for $595 (and we complain about the PS3’s  price), this 8 bit machine has amassed over 30 million systems sold and holds the record for the best selling personal computer in the world.

It’s success in the early eighties is thought to have been a major contributor to the infamous video game crash, which in turn helped Nintendo to dominate the post crash console war in the states.

Some of you may be aware that the C64 celebrated it 25th anniversary  in December of last year and at the Computer History Museum a special celebration was recorded and is available on you tube, read about it here.

The C64 back catalogue will be available in Europe soon and will be priced at 500 Wii Points.
