Video Games Live album debuts at #10
Filed under: Events, Latest News | Comments (0)The Video Games Live album debuted in San Diego last week, coming in at a respectable #10 in the US Billboard charts. It’s recognition for a lively and enjoyable event that celebrates what gamers have known for a very long time… that the games industry has some top notch composers whose music rivals and often betters mainstream artists.

King Of Games
Filed under: Apparel, Latest News, Nintendo | Comments (0)On a whim i decided to check out King of Games and I’m glad I did because they’ve just updated their website with three new t-shirts with a Super Mario Galaxy theme.
Given the title of Fantastic adventure, two of the tees sport the same image of Peach’s Castle being stolen, but one is blue and white, where as the other features a mild splattering of colour. The other image is of Koopa Jr.’s Airship and each tee is also available in three different printing styles Normal, fuzzy and puffy, although I’m yet to work out exactly what that means… (Read on …)

Filed under: Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony | Comments (1)I saw the trailer for Space Chimps a while back and I must admit it looked generally appealing, not sure what it was, maybe the space setting or mickey take “right Stuff” theme, or maybe it was just the monkeys (chimps) either way I’m tempted to see it. The game is out tomorrow and if you want to follow the adventures of Ham, Titan and Luna after seeing the film you might want to take a look at the following. (Read on …)

Filed under: Latest News, Nintendo | Comments (0)I think of all the long running franchises out there SimCity has taken a bit of a beating in recent years. Over at one of my favorite websites for cool tees (80’s tee) I’ve found this sweet tee called: Oh Snap featuring our good old friend Petey Piranha the Piranha Plant! And I have to say he looks much better than the life sized one that has been made by someone called: standard_issue’s, This thing would keep me up all night if in the same room as me!!! (Read on …)

Hopefully you know the drill by now, as updates go general improvements or fixes aren’t really news worthy and they don’t really affect your gaming experience. While Valve are busy making major changes to the classes of TF2, occassionally in their minor updates they slip in additions that have the potential to change the game too. (Read on …)

Looking through the web this morning and i came across this sweet tee which as i could see is caled: Fourth Gen but i think we should be calling it the “Super Neo Mega Turbo” tee!
Below is a quote from the tee’s website page:
I remember when the PlayStation was Next Gen. Now it’s just the best CD player available according to certified audiophiles. Which brings me to my point, the fourth gen was just about the games. I kind of miss that. I think I need to drown my sorrows in 60 fps of 1080p via HDMI 1.3.
You can pick up one of these over at Meatbun.us for a tidy sum of $26.00, and then you too can call yourself “Retro!”

Filed under: Events, Latest News, Nintendo | Comments (0)It sounds like Gamecock and Red Fly Studio are really going to town will the build up to Mushroom Men’s release in the United States in October, I certainly hope the make a similar effort in Europe too.
Up for grabs is the Pax statue (pictured above), the first set of trading cards and a six day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Mexico and then back again. Although to be honest I’ll just be happy with the funky statue (and the game of course). (Read on …)

Daniel Roswell @ 8:03 pmHalo Corpse Alphabet Completed!
Filed under: Arts & Crafts, Latest News, Microsoft | Comments (0)The Halo corpse alphabet has finally finished, and it only took a month killing to do!
Created by the guys at I <3 Halo 3 Screenshots, the images are made up of either a Spartan or an Elite killed during battle. One of the I <3 Halo 3 Screenshots members known as AusQB has even painstakingly removed all traces of the background image to create a macabre font.
Currently only A-Z is available in font format, but rest assured AusQB is working away at completing the numbers and punctuation marks too.
The Halo Corpse Alphabet is a rather macabre project with the goal being to represent every letter of the alphabet by the twisted, curved, stretched, and otherwise dead Spartan and Elite bodies from Halo 3. The Halo community was clearly up for the challenge as they miraculously managed to capture every single letter, number, and even some punctuation in the form of screenshots. Have fun viewing the Halo Corpse Alphabet, then try your hand at writing with it by utilizing the font included at the end. Enjoy!

Daniel Roswell @ 10:16 amThe Ninjas Of Ninjatown!
Filed under: Latest News | Comments (0)Say hello to the Anti-ninja, the latest addition to Ninja town for the DS (bit like lazy town, but full of ninjas and stuff). The Anti-ninja is a bit of a paradox because as his name suggests he is a ninja, he just doesn’t follow the ninja code. Which is why his chosen get up is orange and not the traditional black, because as the Anti-ninja says himself “Blend in by standing out…”.
While we are on introductions, I might as we introduce you to the White ninja and Wee ninja too. (Read on …)

Couldn’t resist with that title!, and no, not quite top of the world either (famous Cagney quote from White Heat used by Criterion).
Still we can’t complain too much since it is free and criterion are very kindly adding a whole host of new content, like new online game modes (Marked Man, Stunt Run and Road Rage), the Live Page and Calendar, our new cars, liveries and 70 Challenges.
A provisional date of August the 4th and hopefully Criterion can iron out all the kinks in time!
Daniel Roswell @ 9:37 amWill It Blend? Gamer Edition
Filed under: Latest News | Comments (0)I think I was first introduced to Will It Blend when WIB host Tom Dickson asked if you could blend a Christmas Dinner, the answer (as usual) was a resounding YES!
Since then I’ve checked back to see what other outrageous things have been blended and generally thought how much fun it must be to work for blendtec. I think it helps that Tom Dickson comes across as a nice guy and seems to really enjoy his job as a spokesman for the company.
The shorts have a simple charm to them, with a blend (!) of serious testing, humour and suspense, because after all both the viewer and blendtec are interested in the results. It wasn’t until today that I had actually realised how many gaming related products had been turned into dust and smoke. It is in fact five and you can view all of them after the link. (Read on …)
Daniel Roswell @ 8:11 pmBanjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Filed under: Latest News, Microsoft, Xbox Live | Comments (0)It’s been roughly five years since Rare’s move to Microsoft and in those five years they haven’t really touched on their old material except Conkers Bad Fur Day and Perfect Dark (a port and the less said about PDZ the better).
The problem Rare and to a lesser degree Microsoft face with working on Rare’s back catalogue is obvious comparisons to the Rare Nintendo partnership. Banjo-Kazooie represents a game that almost toppled Mario from his gaming thrown. Rare’s title boasts better graphics, unique gameplay and a comprehensive platforming formula involving the usual collection items and upgrades. Where Banjo falls down is in it’s emulation of Mario and fails to produce original environments and tasks to confidently set it apart from other platformers.
Judging by the press release below Rare have taken the 3D platforming staples (which they helped to create with the previous 2 instalments) and turned it on its head. It would seem that Banjo and Kazooie have been watching repeats of MacGyver because now even the most mundane of items can be used vehicle or weapons. (Read on …)
