So this is the first look at the new Quantum of Solace game on the Wii, and I have to say this looks like it could be a Golden Eye contender, you might even say “Mr. Bond we’ve been expecting you..!”
Ok so as we all know, Golden Eye set the bar back in ’97 for being one totally kick ass game that few have come close to its level of greatness! So will the new game live up or get shot down we will have to see I guess.
Check out the almost 10 minutes of video below to make your own mind up.
OK, so I did a pst about the new Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on the DS and it got me thinking about the planned Wii version. Castlevania Judgement, will be the first Castlevania title for the Wii and instead of giving us an all out action adventure Konami are giving us a fighting game. Series creator Koji ‘IGA’ Igarashi, has taken a personal involvement in this title, which on the surface seems to take at... (read more »)
Scott Johnson over at Extra Life is quite a prolific cartoonist, his most recent work involves Mario, a popular subject for the artist and the very real scenario of the world wide credit crisis. To find out Mario copes in a recession hit the jump, although if things carry on the way Scott has painted Mario might need to take up a profession. I hear Plumbers get paid well these days. Source Extralife ... (read more »)
Stop motion animation is most certainly a dying breed thanks to more modern technologies, like digital effects. Of the top of my head I can think of only two mainstream producers, one being Tim Burton and the other being Aardman animation. I suspect the main reason behind the decline would be due to the sheer effort involved in doing animation this way. Effort is one thing that artist Nicolas Menard has a lot of... (read more »)
Capcom are really ramping up their SSF II HDR output right now and as the picture suggests they are probably gearing for their super combo finish!
This time around we are treated to visuals for Chun-Li, Vega and Balrog. Each character has three pieces of stunning art work and then a batch of action shots. As Capcom promised last week we should be seeing the finished product very soon, so watch out for the announcement.
Dead Rising first shuffled it’s way onto the XBOX 360 as a launch title back in 2006. Billed as a survival horror game, it was quite clear it drew influences from john Romero and his Dawn of the Dead of films. Something that got Capcom in a spot of legal bother.
Even though it is a survival Horror title the underlining tone of the game is that of humor and when playing you are never far away from a funny encounter with a zombie. That being said the game’s difficulty lies with it’s time management system that has you running around like a headless chicken trying to save people and confront the psychopaths.
The science fiction survival horror game Dead Space hit the shops on Friday and should be scaring gamers the world over by now. A major part of what makes a game scary is the atmospheric soundtrack that accompanies the game, an effective soundtrack can heighten your sense of dread during a particularly eerie moment. It can also let you know you are safe, if only for the time being. Today music 4 games posted an... (read more »)
The awesomely addictive music game Audio Surf is now available to buy in UK shops, making this unique game more accessible to the gaming public and for a steal at £999. For anyone who uses Steam would be well aware of the games’ simple and yet mesmerising qualities because they have probably been playing it for a long time now. The fact it has finally received a hard copy solidifies it’s popularity... (read more »)
From a scientific stand point (in this case a group of Biologists) the idea of a game based upon the principals of evolution must prove a tantalising prospect. With science and maths placements at universities at a low, and the general perception of science as not sexy. A multi million selling game based on evolution could very well boost awareness and understanding of the subject. Especially as the reviewer John... (read more »)
Tomorrow is Friday 24th October. Funnily enough, it is also the day which VideoGamesLive will be playing at the Royal Festival Hall in London. What an eerie coincidence! If you’re out and about at the London Games Festival, there are still a few tickets up for grabs in both the 4pm & 8pm performances. Over the last few weeks, the VGL team have sent out several emails. These often contained several... (read more »)
The latest Castlevania game will be hitting store shelves in America today, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to take a look and see what we, as Europeans are going to have to wait until January for… Order of Ecclesia is the third Castlevania game to grace the DS and is still proudly flying the flag of 2D side scrolling Vampire slaying that separates the good Castlevania games from the bad ones.... Have you ever wanted to be a record breaker but lacked the speed of Jamaica’s Usain Bolt who reduced the 100 metre record to 9.69 seconds ? Or maybe you would like to be the Worlds fastest sheep shearer at 35.63 seconds.
Help is at hand for we can all be record breakers, and all that’s required is to turn up and play your DS. DS:London (Meetup Group) in conjunction with the London Games Festival Fringe are organising a World Record Attempt.
LucasArts and BioWare are working on a new Star Wars game set within the Old Republic era of the franchise. The previous two collaborations with the two companies spawned Knights of the Old Republic I and II, which are lauded as the most critically acclaimed Star Wars game.
This time however, instead of just simply returning to the Old Republic, LucasArts and BioWare are taking the franchise to it’s next logical step and turning it into an MMO. The Old Republic is set roughly 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic and is a period of time that is completely unexplored in the lore.
A new batch of tasty screen shots for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (got to be best name ever) for your viewing pleasure, with the inclusion of some high resolution art work too. Capcom has also teased that SFII T HDR will coming very soon, so hopefully these images will tide you over until then.
In a refreshing change to the current trend of chronologically titled games MotoGP 08 is actually being released on 2008. As you may recall Capcom secured a five year deal with Dorna Sports to develop the games based on the championship series, 08 will be the first attempt and if all goes well they should return in 09 (which is next year, EA). This being an official product of MotoGP means you can choose to race... (read more »)
