Impressions: Ironman

As is standard with all blockbuster films these days, it’s not complete without an accompanying video game tie-in.
Iron Man is this year’s first movie video game to hit the shelves, with it’s release in just five days time I thought I would take a look at the XBOX 360 to see if it’s any good (after all that’s what it’s for).

From the makers of the popular Ankh series on the PC and the soon to be released DS version, Jack Keane continues Deck 13’s love affair with point and click adventures, the once staple of PC gaming. As opposed to Ankh’s Egyptian backdrop, Jack Keane is set around the height of the British Empire and its Colonization of Indian territories, where on a mysterious island a mad scientist is plotting world domination and revenge on England. As Jack Keane you will find yourself at first agreeing to escort a spy to Tooth Island to investigate the mysterious Dr T, then stumbling into an adventure all of your own, which unravels the truth behind your orphaned upbringing. Guitar Heroism returns for a third instalment and not only has some new tricks up its sleeve, but also graces a Nintendo console for the first time.
The game comes with a rather nifty looking guitar which is modeled on the Gibson Les Paul. The guitar itself is quite comfortable to hold and feels solidly built; although just like a real guitar it wont hold up to axe swinging.

New ways to play. That’s what Nintendo said about the Wii, how little I realised what a sweeping statement that would be.
From the first moments when you load up Super Mario Galaxy you know it’s a Mario game and that Nintendo have put 110% in developing the latest in the portly plumber’s adventure, there is crispness in the menu screen and a little twinkle in your pre-game set up.

Here at Level Select we try to do things a little differently, and with this in mind I have decided to review games in a completely different way to everybody else.
Rather than play the game continuously until it’s completed and the controller is ripped from my sweaty hands, I’m going to play the games the way normal people do. There’s the initial five minutes when the game is purchased, the marathon session when evening falls and finally, the dipping in and out until the game is completed, frustration leads to the discs demise or boredom points you towards the next eagerly awaited title. This past week I’ve been getting my head around Team Fortress 2 on Valve’s Steam Platform, and even though this is the Beta it’s pretty much the finished product. Anyone thinking of buying Team Fortress 2 on its own or as part of the ludicrously cheap Orange Box is in for a real treat.

I’m sure like most people when growing up you wanted to be a superhero, going around stopping the bad guys and getting the girl, Well “Marvel: Ultimate Alliance” is letting us all become that superhero but it takes this idea one step further by allowing you to create your own team. (Read on …)

Recently, I was given a 4gamers Remote Charging Stand for my Wii and have been reasonably impressed with it so far, so I thought I’d share my views on this with the world.
We all know there are a lot of accessories out there for all consoles - both official and 3rd party - and it can sometimes be difficult to decide which one to go for. Unfortunately, I’m not in the position to rate this product against any others which are currently on the market (well apart from the original Wii stand perhaps) however sometimes hearing about some-one else’s experience can really help.
