EarthBotched: A History of Nintendo vs. Starmen

For those of us outside of Japan Earthbound has always been painfully just out of reach, it never quite made it onto the NES and only just scraped through on the SNES in America but suffered from poor sales.

As a result the more recent Earthbound 3 has been restricted to Japan and it’s fate seemed sealed as a Japanese only series, that was until last week when it passed an ERSB rating in America and could finally have the attention it so rightly deserves.

Aaron Linde over at Shack News has put together a history of Starmen.net’s ten year battle to get the Earthbound series released, to resorting to a English translation from within the community. It’s certainly worth a read if you are not familiar with the trials Starmen.net have gone through to get this far.
