EyeToy vs Wii-mote?

The PlayStation Eye (i.e. EyeToy 2) and Wii Remote are kind of similar?
In an article from CVG about the new EyeToy they have felt it necessary to compare the two saying that Sony’s new camera was a better gaming option than the Wii Remote? Now I wish we could live in a world where everyone got along with each other, rather than having to prove that they are best! but that’s never going to happen is it!
Ok I do understand the fact that both rely on your movements, but other than that I don’t get it? Can you play a FPS (First Person Shooter) with it? Or maybe a driving game? I’m not sure it would be the same, but we can only wait and see if this claim is as good as it says it is!
The multi-directional microphone in the EyeToy 2 is very impressive and might have the potential to stay out of the cupboard unlike the first EyeToy, but I can’t see much more that could be compared with to the Wii-mote!
