So you remember back to say the 80′s were the future was all mutants and cyborgs..? Well looks like a few people at Ubisoft who at first were playing a very cool April fools joke on everybody have had this cool joke turned into an actual add-on to Far Cry 3..!

You will be able to play as a Soldier/Cyborg and play through some awesome 80′s looking levels which to me look somthing like Transformers meets Tron..!

As always check the video below, and what the hell is the monster thing at the end of the video..?

For a lot of younger gamers out there and to anyone not residing in the UK, the name Patrick Moore might only conjure up images of a brilliant, yet eccentric astrologer who wore a monocle. To the older gamers though, Patrick Moore also represented what can be described as Britain’s first and only real attempt at a TV show dedicated to games.

Between the years of 1992 and 1998 GamesMaster ran for seven seasons to a total of 126 shows and featured a mixture of reviews, previews, celebrity guests, game challenges (which were sometimes specially designed by games developers, like Shiny Entertainment) and of course the GamesMaster, played by Patrick Moore.

The function of the GamesMaster was to adjudicate the challenges and choose the victor if a choice was needed to be made. Most importantly though was his function for helping gamers with hints tip and tricks and a form of an agony uncle.

Outside of GamesMaster Patrick Moore was an accomplished astrologer, whose published work exceeded 70 books on astrology and hosted the longest running TV series the The Sky at Night. He was also a self-taught xylophone and piano player and an accomplished composer.

He will be missed.

Yes now if i didnt already have a wedding ring i would most certainly have wanted to get these awesome rings by Transylvanian goldsmith Zsolt Székely, as they sum up everything i think a ring should be as its got one of the greatest quotes from any game inscribed inside it and i hadnt given it much thought but isn’t “It’s dangerous to go alone” when put on a wedding band a very romantic phrase..?

Anyways as well as the awesome quote it also comes with its very own Triforce which we all know represent power, wisdom and courage. If your looking for a cool ring then you should check out Mrs Zsolt website here: www.zsoltszekely.com

DotA 2 has been in beta for sometime now and I’ve finally got my hands on a beta key. I have to say, if you’re a fan of the original DotA you’ll love this. It has most of the original heroes, items and skills. This familiarity attracted me to it.

So what’s changed from the original DotA Warcraft mod? Some the features I’m going to talk about already exist in other standalone versions of DotA (League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth) but for none LoL or HoN players, DotA 2 will be a massive upgrade.

First of all is the major graphic update from the original. It is by far the best graphic out of the three currently in the market (League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth & Dota 2).

As the game is now standalone, there are many features which weren’t in the original. Firstly been the control customisation. It wasn’t easy, sometimes not possible at all, to change the hot keys in the original Warcraft mod but now I can customise it to suit me and my little hands. Secondly, there is in game voice speech for faster communication with your team. It’s not as clear as something like Ventrilo but it’s better than typing especially if you’re in mid battle.

There is also a point/rank system which is very common now in any standalone versions of the game. Players will gain points and rank up as they win games. The auto match system will find players and opponents of similar rank, allowing players to play with those that are equal in skill level to them.

One of my favourite new feature is that there is only one item shop at base. That is big if you’re coming from the original DotA. I remember the days when I had to search through 5-6 shops for the item I needed, not very newbie friendly. As well as having only one shop, there is now item suggestions. The suggested items are spilt into starting, early game, core, and situational. Experience players probably won’t even look at this as they’ve already got their own unique build for each hero, but for new players this ia very good starting point.

One more great feature with the item shop is that it will show you the required items to make the upgrades when you click into it. If you have enough money, you can buy the completed item straight away but if not, you can just buy the parts one at a time. This is so useful! I remember items were one of the hardest part to learn in the original. Not only do you need to know which item to buy for each hero, but also the items you need to buy to combine it and then try and find it amongst the shops.

There are many more new features and there will be more to come, but ultimately the game play is pretty much exactly the same as the original. If you are currently still playing the original or remember your builds from the original then you’ll pick this up very quickly.

I have also played Heroes of Newerth, which is very very similar to the original Dota in terms of game play. I do know that League of Legends in similar but there are many differences, such as it lacks the ability to deny creeps, there is no secret shop and the actual map structure is different (for full details see Differences between HoN/DotA and LoL).

DotA 2 will definitely attract those that loved the original as well as new players to this genre of games. It is likely many HoN players will move over to DotA 2 but not as likely for LoL players due to the slight game play differences. In my opinion, I believe DotA, DotA 2 and HoN is slightly harder than LoL. Many LoL & Dota 2 comparison by LoL players have stated that it is slightly more challenging.

Here’s a few questions for you:

Are you a DotA/LoL/HoN player? If so, which do you play?

If you have tried out DotA 2, what do you think?

If you’re not currently playing DotA 2, will you looking to give it a try upon official release?

A demo for Need for Speed Most Wanted is now available to download from both Xbox and PlayStation servers. The game was released about two weeks ago to a flurry of positive reviews and is doing quite well in the sales charts too.

Although admittedly with so many games coming out in this busy period its sometimes hard to decide what to buy and what not to buy. The good news is that with the demo now available at least you can try before you buy this time around.

With Halo 4′s release out of the way you might have thought that 343 Industries can kick back and bask in the critical acclaim the game is receiving. Not so, the new owners of Halo might have shipped their first Halo game but now is not the time to be laying about.

The second episode of their co-op adventure is due out on Monday and for anyone interested, here is a short teaser of what to expect.

The episode sees a mysterious artifact (recovered from Requiem) take control of vital systems on board the UNSC Infinity, forcing the Spartans of Crimson and Majestic back down to the planet to look for a way to free the ship.

For the un-initiated Spartan Ops is a co-op based adventure set on the world of Requiem six months after the events of the main campaign. Each week there will be a continuing episode telling the story of the UNSC Infinity and the members of Spartan Fireteam Majestic.
