A lot of people will know of Benheck from his unique modding projects he creates, ranging from stuffing whole xboxes into laptops to modding game controllers to work sans buttons. Ben also has a spot on the MAKE: blog where he brings to the attention of us lesser modding abled, the work of great modding from around the Internet. This particular project jumped out at me for a number of reasons, firstly I absolutely love the Half-Life series and I’m not ashamed to admit I’m it’s bitch, second fellow LS member Neil has been busying himself building a new PC (one of conventional methods) and finally because it’s totally amazing.
There are also a number of technical reasons why this PC stands out too, you will notice there is a lot of shiny metal and plastics used, as Ben points out (from experience no doubt) these materials are easily scratched and can completely ruin all effort put in to your mod. Another feature popular at the moment is water cooling units as opposed to traditional fan cooling, even without the photographic evidence provided I can conjure up a logistical nightmare of tube and wires fighting for space in a cramped PC tower. Couple that with the fact this case mod was put together in two weeks during a wedding/honeymoon period with your wife just makes this even more amazing (surefire way of telling she’s a keeper).
