More on ‘The Pitt’

Not too long ago, I brought you news that the second instalment of the Fallout 3 DLC had been delayed and would not be available until March. Unfortunately, nothings changed but more information is coming out of Bethesda about the content and game play of ‘The Pitt’.

A few days ago, Stephen Totilo from MTV managed to get an interview with Pete Hines, the game studio’s PR guy, and put a series of questions from gamers to him.

Based on the answers Hines gave, it looks like the new DLC is going to be of a similar size to ‘Operation:Ancourage’ but involve much more interaction with wasteland survivors (raiders, slavers and Slaves) in Pittsburgh as well the normal combat type situation.

One of the interesting points is that once you enter the devastated ruins of Pittsburgh (via a train) and embark on the new challenge, you won’t be able to return to DC until you’ve finish the new quest.

This DLC will set you back 800 points (just like ‘Operation:Ancourage’) so I’d expect something fairly similar in size to the first DLC although Bethesda has promised a new, grittier and darker environment to explore.

In this latest DLC you will actually be able to pick up new armour and weapons – like the Auto Axe (pictured above) – which you can actually take back to DC.

The full interview can be read here.
