My Jurassic Park Themed Review Of E3

Part of enjoying many forms of entertainment across many different forms of mediums are the inevitable parallels I find. All of which are completely random connections that only make sense to me and are subject to my own stimulus. Of course this trait isn’t unique to me, everybody does it, but everybody will have their own way of interpreting what they experience.
For me while I was watching Microsoft’s E3 briefing a specific scene from Jurassic Park popped into my head that succinctly described my feelings of what Microsoft had to say. So I thought to myself, “could I find similar scenes to describe both Sony and Nintendo’s briefings?”
After a bit of searching I believe I have and hopefully you can see my logic here (bit of a stretch I know).
Microsoft’s E3 briefing as told by Jurassic Park
“Now, eventually you might have games on your gaming console?”
Nintendo’s E3 briefing as told by Jurassic Park
“Third parties! THIRD PARTIES! WE’VE GOT THIRD PARTIES HERE! No one cares!” (Now WTF is my Legend of Zelda?)
Sony’s E3 briefing as told by Jurassic Park
The only one that needs a small explanation because of the length and poor quality. What you should pay attention to is the interactions between Dr Grant and Tim which starts 45 seconds in and culminates with the following exchange.
“So listen Sony, which gaming exclusives were you planning on riding with?”
“whichever one you are”
So there you have it an easy to digest summary of this year’s E3 for those of you who missed it and can’t be arsed to trawl through the many thousands of words and opinions already available. Also, as a bit of an aside, while I was searching for the clips (and re-watching the film) I can to the realisation that each clip can be used with any briefing. Which I think speaks volumes about the general disappointment with the show this year for me and for many of you.
