NBA JAM Media

I must admit that when I saw the box art for this, that I got a little confused. This is because for some reason I thought this was a WiiWare title and wouldn’t be getting an actual retail disc. I’m not sure where this came from, but anyway, NBA JAM.

No SNES or Mega Drive (Genesis) collection was complete without a copy of this awesome arcade game and for me, whose only ever owned two sports titles (this being one of them), I was no exception. I think the resaon it was so popular was because of its over the top action and its bare bones approach to a sport, any sport. I really can’t be bothered with stats, play sheets or tactics; all I’m concerned with is playing the game.

Just check out the original in action and you’ll see how quick and painless it was to actually play the game.

As you can see the update has got all of the original’s hallmarks, the shoves, the crazy shots and the insane dunks! And lest we not forget the commentary too, “ooooooooh he jams it in!” “from downtown” and “He’s on fire!”
