Ni no Kuni: The Another World

So what is “Ni no Kuni: The Another World” i hear you ask, well this is a new RPG coming out sometime in 2009 to the Nintendo DS and is being made by Level-5 with Studio Ghibli!!!

Now if you’re not aware of who Studio Ghibli is they are a Japanese animation film studio that produces some of the most spectacular Anime in the world! With films such as: Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence and most recently Howl’s Moving Castle! under their belts, I can’t think of a better company to produce all of Ni no Kuni’s animation. And to top this off the game will be Level-5’s first 10th Anniversary product.

So whats the story?

Well as you can imagine being anime the game will follow the adventure a 13-year-old boy whose actions lead to the death of his mother. One day, the boy encounters a fairy who gives him a book which promises to lead him to the mysterious world of Ni no Kuni, a reality parallel to his own.

With the game there will be a book bundled with the game filled with information on various magic crests and spell recipes. This ‘Magic Master’ book is something that the main character in the game has, and the player will need to refer to from time to time while playing the game. And there is talk about Ni no Kuni: The Another World making its way onto a console but a platform has yet to be decided (But the Wii for me would be the most suitable choose as it looks like the game involves using a magic wand!)
