It seems that Nintendo has responded to the single most important issue that users face with the Wii-Mote – slippage (!).
Today, Nintendo (in America, Australiia and Japan) have announced that they are giving away up to 4 free Wii-mote silicon jackets to each Wii owner in the coming weeks to cut now on the incidents experienced when using the Wii’s deadly remote.
Nintendo’s advice on the use of the new safety device is this
“We recommend to fit the Wii Remote Jacket to the Wii Remote in order to enhance your grip and provide additional protection if the Wii Remote is accidentally thrown or dropped during game play.”
Oh and don’t fear if your hoping to soon purchase a Wii, additional Wii remotes or Wii Play as they’ll all include this item as standard from now on.
There’s no word yet on whether this safety item will be provided to European audiences. Perpahs its what you call ‘targeted’ distribution.
