Its 1944 and the Second World War is just entering its final year, during the summer of that year the allied launch an all out offensive against the Axis army, lead by the German armed forces. Operation Overlord, code named D-Day (vividly recreated in Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan) begins the largest amphibian invasion ever recorded, in Normandy. This move helps liberate France and significantly weakens the Nazis on the western front. While in the east Stalin orders Russian troops invade Finland to clear the way to the German capital, Berlin.

In Order of War you can choose to play the role of Allied or Axis and battle it out in a recreation of WWII. You can either choose to relive historic moments or recreate them in Square Enix’s collaboration with Wargaming.net to create a realistic strategy based warfare game. If this sounds like your sort of thing, then check out these fresh images and information, conveniently compiled in list form. Also you might want to check out my original post that contains the trailer for the game.

Features:

  • Experience WWII warfare on an epic, cinematic stage; that truly captures the intensity and scale of the battlefield.
  • Take Command of an entire armoured force consisting of up to 1,000 soldiers, tank divisions, armoured vehicles, artillery and air force.

  • Experience the unique dynamic camera that allows players to command troops over huge geographical scale whilst delivering movie-like vistas and stunning detail.
  • In-depth gameplay modes – two different campaign modes, multi-player, Deathmatch and Skirmish’.
