Owlboy Demo

Being of the age where I grew up on a diet of 16 bit graphics I’m always on the lookout for games that remind me of the good ol’ days. Enter Owlboy, a 2D side srcolling adventure game from Dpad studio.

Primed to fill a SNES shaped gap in my life, promises to deliver all the hallmarks of a great game. Critically acclaimed pixel graphics, large dungeons, a deep storyline (with Sky Pirates!), side quests and most important of all collectable hats.

If you download the demo you will be introduced to the game’s star, Otus and to the concept of flying with your gunner. Which instead of having Otus do all the fighting himself, you have the ability to carry a person with you. While flying is handled with the keyboard, shooting is controlled by the mouse which makes for a unique twist on the mechanic.
