Meet the Sniper SDK Assets

The chances are, if you are a PC gamer then you’ve tried your hand at creating your own gaming content, be it level editing, character modelling or gameplay modes. Such is the popularity of modding PC games that its part of the landscape, so much so that developers generally release game editing tools with the game or make them freely available for any user. Valve, who have always been actively involved in...  (read more »)

Dark Void, Nikola Tesla and The Preorder Bonus

Here are some new images for Capcom’s Dark Void that features heavily on the real life inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla. Tesla, for those a bit fuzzy on their history will probably be most remembered for his work on AC (Alternating Current) and its rivalry to DC (Direct Current) championed by former employer Thomas Edison, for electrical power distribution within the united States....  (read more »)

Paperboy: The Movie

So after seeing the Tekken the movie trailer the other day I started to look on the web for other game to movie trailers and I came across “Paperboy: The Movie” and I have to say the guys that did this got a little carried away with the blood in this trailer. This trailer was in fact a submission into the 2009 Totally Awesome Video Game Movie frenzy competition for the 2009 Fantastic Fest. Ohh and if...  (read more »)

Machinarium

Point and click adventures are a dying bread these days, so much so that what once was a thriving genre is now exclusive to a few titles. Like the ever popular Sam & Max series but if like me, you find the humour a little too forced and the 3D art direction not living up to its 2D predecessor, maybe you should check out Machinarium. Machinarium has been floating around the Internet for a while and its even...  (read more »)

Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight

Here we have some more images from the final instalment of the Command & Conquer series (fear not! C&C fans I’m sure this won’t be the last we’ll see of the NOD or GDI), simply titled Junk Town and with no supporting text so we can only guess at the details. Since we are being kept in the dark about what to expect I thought I would offer some theories of my own based on the following...  (read more »)

15-Pixel Street Fighter

Tekken the Movie..?

Ok so this isn’t a real “Tekken” movie trailer rather a fan made trailer. All in all this is one great trailer for Tekken and I might go so far as saying its better than anything that has been made for real i.e. Dead or Alive, Street Fighter. When do you think the studios will realise that all we really want out of a video game movie is the original basic plotline that the game had rather than...  (read more »)

Review: King Of Fighters XII

Three on three, time trial based fisticuffs returns in SNK’s twelfth instalment of the King of Fighters series. KOF has been going on 15 years now and like any other fighting game very little has changed in the core mechanic of this almost annual title. The series originally started by lifting characters from SNK’s Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury franchises and pitting them against each other, with the...  (read more »)

Super Street Fighter IV Art and Screens

Capcom just recently made the announcement of Super Street Fighter IV’s existence and with it, the addition of eight new fighters to bolster the 25 already available in SFIV. By new we mean some new faces to the franchise and some old, that just haven’t made the jump (or didn’t make the cut) to SFIV. These include both Deejay and T. Hawk, who complete the rooster of the old school Super Street...  (read more »)

Star Fox in Iraq

So remember the classic game Star Fox 64..? (Yes I know there is also Star fox on the SNES) Well remember how Slippy the Frog always seemed to get in the way of what you were doing or get into trouble and you would have to go save his ass? Or what about Peppy Hare telling you every 2 seconds to do a barrel roll and what was up with Falco and the sarcasm? Well College Humor have come through again with another...  (read more »)

Independence – Part 3

XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare sing a similar refrain; sell affordable, addictive, relatively small in storage size, fun games that people won’t be afraid to invest in.  Let’s face it, we will definitely hesitate when choosing which full priced retail game we want to buy.  Most of us would be less hesitant on a game that made a smaller footprint in our wallets.  This is how indie games found a new and...  (read more »)

COD4 Modern Warfare 2: Infamy Trailer

Ignoring any poor Carry on jokes (and showing my age) Infinity Ward’s latest trailer for COD4 Modern Warfare 2 is simply titled Infamy and simply put it is awesome. With little over a month before the title hits the shelves IW are slowing turning up the marketing machine and turning the screws for anyone chomping at the bit for this game. I’ll give it a week before they go full tilt and really start...  (read more »)

Tekken 6: “What will you fight for..?”

Now I remember a time when not very many people knew about Sony’s Playstaion, but one thing that has always stayed with me was going round to my mate Matt’s house to play his new Playstaion with a new game called “Tekken” and I was blown about as at the time all I had really known was Street Fighter and seeing a fighting game that was almost in 3D was something I can tell you. I have to...  (read more »)

Halo 3: CSI

Halo 3: ODST has been out a little over a week now and gamers across the globe have been getting to grips with the continuation of the Halo franchise. Two areas of note are the excellent Firefight mode and the chance to run around the streets of New Mombasa pretending to be your favourite detective, be it Colombo, Dr Mark Sloane or Miss Marple. Ctrl+Alt+Del have latched on to this new Halo concept and given it a...  (read more »)

Nintendo’s Out For Blood – Pirate Blood

I’m sure most Wii owners have noticed that soft familiar blue glow on the front of their consoles recently.  Just like me I bet they turned on their Wii in hopes of a message from one of their buds but instead received a message from Nintendo.  I knew what this message was as soon I noticed who it was from and reluctantly opened it.  I was unsurprised that there was another Wii update being released and...  (read more »)
