At the Tokyo Game Show this year, Capcom announced the release of Resident Evil 5: The Alternative Edition and at the time it was only slated as a disc release. This would have meant that if Resident Evil fans wanted to play this alternative version they would have needed to buy the game all over again. After the announcement Capcom left the decision to the fans to decide whether or not the content would also be released in download form for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
Finally the results are in, and the fans have voted to make the content available as DLC as well as in disc form. Pricing hasn’t been finalised yet, but expect the content to arrive around Spring time on both platforms.
