Below you see the video of the upcoming game Scribblenauts. This is from a recent IGN post found here.
This game makes my head hurt. You can really type or write anything into it and it will appear on the screen? How the heck did they design that many objects and the localization for different languages; this game sounds like it was a major undertaking. So I did some research and I find out that the developer had a team dedicating their lives to nothing more than word research. Those guys must have hated life at the time.
As for an ‘action puzzle’ game, I have mixed feelings. I don’t think it is going to be my main objective to get that star our of that tree nor will I be focusing on completing the entire story. I already know that I am going to get my dictionary down from the shelf and see what kind of crazy things I can put in the game and I want to see how they will interact with me and the environment.
I wanna pit things against one another more than I want to play the actual levels. Sure I will end up progressing through the levels just to see if I can get different environments to mess with. Wouldn’t it be cool to have Van Helsing and Dracula fight? Or maybe make a slip and slide out of slugs, I don’t know, the possibilities seem almost endless.
There also seems to be a fair amount of easter eggs in the game. Who would have thought that a villain would turn into a werewolf under moonlight, do they normally do that? I wonder if they made any homage to other great games like an invincibility barrier from Sonic, or even Mega Man’s blaster. I did hear that there would be some internet meme in the game for sure, i.e. Keyboard Cat.3
Nevertheless, when this game hits at the end of this year, you know it is going to be a blast.
