If you were around for the battle between Nintentendo and Sega then you played are very familiar with this style of gameplay. Sonic offered fans what Mario never could, speed and lots of it.
To be brutally honest I am and have always been a Nintendo fan regardless of what Sega had to offer. Let’s face the facts; (back in the day) Sega games were weird and there weren’t that many great ones to choose from. The Genesis had an odd three button controller that never really felt right in your hands and their D-pad flat out sucked. Despite being a Nintendo fanboy I will admit that Sonic had me picking up the old three button controller on many occasions.
Looking at the video above makes me wish I had one of those systems laying around right now. I really could go for some Last Battle!
