Split Second

split-second-logo

There was an update to the media assets for Split Second and I dutifully investigated the update only to find out that the update consisted of the original images and two new images which were stills taken from the teaser trailer. After checking the site I noticed that there wasn’t a Split Second post anyway so I could freely add the images without worry of repeating myself, or anyone else.

The teaser does a nice job of explaining what makes Split Second different to your average racing game. What we wont know until later on in the development is exactly how these player triggered events will effect the gameplay outside of it’s initial execution, although it is teased in the following statement:

“Split/Second elevates action racing to a new level by enabling players to strategically take out their opponents by dynamically altering the course in real time,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios.

Hopefully this new mechanic will assist in making the game feel unique, my only worry at the moment is that it might become over used and gimmicky.

This game is looking like it could be the next Burnout..!

But I guess we are going to have to wait to see what the “in-game” graphics look like, but just from the trailer i’m excited..!
