Star Trek Online

Now being a fan of all things Star Trek including the new film by Lost creator J. J. Abrams I am intrigued about Cryptic’s new MMORPG which is nicely named Star Trek Online! With this new MMORPG you will be able to become any race that has shown up in the Star Trek universe, and even be able to create your own race.

From what I can see, you will be able to visit all kinds of different location from Star Trek like: Starfleet Academy, Vulcan ancient temples, the towers of Qo’noS or the Fire Caves of Bajor and all from the comfort of your PC. You will be able to become anyone you want too like a Federation Captain or a Klingon Warrior and ever be able to pimp your own spaceship.

Now what interest me the most with this new game is the fact you will be able to command your vessel in thrilling space battles, or beam down to planets with your away team for face-to-face confrontations and even beam onto an enemy ship and try to take it over which to me sounds like a whole load of fun..! Now Star Trek Online is powered by the Cryptic Engine, which also is used for City of Heroes/Villains so we already know it can hack it but i’m just a little concerned about how the space battles will looks like, don’t get me wrong I love the idea of having of trying to fight of the Borg but only as long as it look good!
