Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is one of those games that everyone seems to know about but very little is actually known about it. I myself have been waiting patiently for Capcom to update their assets so that I could first learn more about the game and then pass on that vital information to you, the reader. Finally that time has come and Capcom updated their assets with character artwork, screen shots, information and more important two gameplay videos.
I think the main reason for the heightened interest in this fighter would be Capcom tapping into the relatively untouched concept of pulling in fighters from many different games (not necessarily fighting games) to square off against each other. The popularity of games like Smash Bros., Marvel vs Capcom and King of Fighters should be a sure-fire indication that TvsC:UAS will be just as popular. A catalyst to its popularity will also have come from the added frustration of its “exclusivity” to Asia and Nintendo’s Wii.
Now, after Capcom has confirmed a North American release (and hopefully a European release will follow) American Wii owners at least can look forward to the game. More recently there has also been talk of a more broad system release, which if does come to fruition, might be subject to a graphical overhaul and prolong its release.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars pairs well-known characters from Capcom’s roster of games with some of Japan’s most beloved characters from anime powerhouse Tatsunoko Production. From Capcom’s 30-year history comes characters like Ryu and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series, Morrigan from Darkstalkers and company mascot Mega Man Volnutt from Mega Man Legends. Tatsunoko’s near half-century of Japanese animation excellence is represented by the likes of Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan from the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman anime (known in North America as Battle of the Planets or G-Force), cybernetic warrior Casshan and comedic action hero Yatterman No. 1. All together, there are more than 20 colorful combatants to choose from in order to form the ultimate tag team combination.
The Gameplay will instantly set fighting game fans’ fingers twitching, combining elements from Capcom games like Street Fighter and previous entries in the VS series, TvsC:UAS is a fun fighting game designed for all levels of players. Players choose from the combined roster of fighters to create their favourite two man/woman/cyborg/robot tag team, rotating on the fly between the two players throughout the course of each match. Those new to the genre will appreciate the game’s bright visual style and simplified four-button fighting controls. Hardcore Capcom fighting fans will dig in to the game’s depth, uncovering huge Aerial Rave combos and unique Variable Assists, gorgeous Hyper Combos, and Variable Combinations that combine the capabilities of two members of the player’s tag-team to unleash huge damage.

Fantastic information. I was one of those few who wouldn’t wait while Capcom decided to localize this baby so I imported it. Thanks to Wii homebrew I was able to play the Japanese version. It is a wonderful game that reminds a lot of Marvel Vs. Capcom with it’s controls and even how I beat the end boss. If you get a chance, check out Roll’s supermove, it’s hilarious.
