Virtual Console Update

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

In Honour of it being my Birthday today Sega has released a total of 5 games for the Wii’s Virtual Console!

All five are action packed Sega Mega Drive games that will set you back 800 points.

First up we have Sonic the Hedgehog 3 which introduced Knuckles the Echidna, gave Sonic and Tails new abilities and power-ups in their battle against Dr.Robotnik. When Knuckles first appears, it is in the role of Dr. Robotnik’s sidekick because he was tricked by Dr. Robotnik into believing Sonic was going to steal the Chaos Emeralds and hinders Sonic’s progress though the game.

Next is Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, a sequel to the arcade hit Ghosts â€˜n Goblins. The Ghosts ‘n Gobins series of games are renown for their legendary hardcore difficulty and punishing level design and as with the original this one continues the adventures of Arthur the knight on a mission to retrieve a fair maiden’s soul from its demonic captors.

Followed closely by Crack Down, an arcade action game for up to two players, in which you must infiltrate enemy strongholds, plant bombs, and shoot your way to safety before the timers hit zero.

In fouth place there is ESWAT: City Under Siege, a conversion of the popular coin-op. As a member of the Elite Special Weapons And Tactics unit, you must clean up a futuristic, crime-ridden city by exterminating scum with extreme prejudice.

Finally the is Shining in the Darkness, one of the first fantasy role-playing games released for the SEGA Mega Drive and also the first in the popular â€˜Shiningâ€™ series. Battle through 3D dungeons in your quest for the Arms of Light and destroy the evil Dark Sol.
