Wii Sports Highest Selling Game Ever
Hot on the heels of the most played system it turns out that third placed Wii managed to sell so many copies of Wii Sports that it is now the highest selling game in the world. This was helped in part by the fact that it was bundled with the Wii, but lets not forget that this did not apply to Asia where the Wii had no games bundled with it. As of the 27th December 2008 Wii Sports surpassed Super Mario Bros 40.24 million units sold.
Wii Sports has hit the heady heights of 40.52 million units, surpassing Super Mario bros. in 110 weeks. Super Mario also came bundled with the NES (sold between 1985-1987), so it just goes to show you how important bundled software can be. Now all Nintendo needs to do is work out how to get those 40.52 million to play their Wiis a little more.
