A side from the recent controversy (albeit to a relatively small group of parents) information about the Wii Zapper has been scarce.
Nintendo officially announced today that the Zapper will be hitting the shops state side on November 19th, will come bundled with Link’s Crossbow Training and retail at the ludicrously cheap $19.99. Add to this the fact the Wii is crazy popular and the chances are the Zapper won’t be on shelves long, neither will that stockpile of Wiis Reggie promised for Christmas.
“The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game-play experiences.”
On top of Link’s Crossbow training the Zapper will also get support from EA’s Medal of Heroes 2, which has both a single player mode and a 32 player, multi-player mode. Capcom has Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Sega has Ghost Squad, all coming out in time for Christmas.
